    We take the issue of illegal products and services very seriously. Upholding the law and safeguarding the integrity of our services are paramount to us. These products and services include without limitation:
  • Illegal drugs, substances designed to mimic illegal drugs, and equipment designed for making or using drugs, liquor sales, offensive goods, crime which includes crime scene photos.
  • Fake references or ID-providing services.
  • Telecommunication services which include without limitation (Top-up cards; Prepaids/Postpaid plans; etc). However, it is to be noted that main telecommunication players such as E&, Du and Virgin shall not be included within this scope. ​
  • Communication long distance call VOIP (call center; MoTo transaction/call automated).
  • Telecommunications manipulation equipment including jamming devices.
  • Any business or organization that (a) engages in, encourages, promotes or celebrates unlawful violence or physical harm to persons or property, or (b) engages in, encourages, promotes or celebrates unlawful violence toward any group based on race, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or any other immutable characteristic.
  • Any other products or services that are in violation of law in the jurisdictions where your business is located or targeted to. 
  1. Products and services that infringe intellectual property rights
    Intellectual property rights are paramount in the digital landscape. Infringing on these rights can lead to legal repercussions, tarnished reputation, and financial losses. At Telr, we emphasize the significance of respecting intellectual property to maintain trust and integrity in business. Properly navigating and protecting intellectual property ensures a competitive edge and fosters innovation while safeguarding against potential litigation and reputational damage.
  • Sales or distribution of music, movies, modifications chips, hacking and cracking materials, copyright unlocking devices which includes chips or devices to circumvent copyright protection, copyrighted media / software which includes unauthorized copies of books, music, cable TV descramblers and boxes which includes devices to obtain satellite signals for free, movies, video games and other licensed or protected materials and software, subscription piracy or any other licensed materials WITHOUT APPROPRIATE AUTHORIZATION.
  • Counterfeit goods; first copy; illegally imported or exported products.
  • UNAUTHORIZED sale of brand name or designer products or services.  
  1. Products and services that are unfair, predatory, or deceptive
    As a payment gateway, Telr prioritizes ethical conduct and integrity. It is imperative not to support unfair, predatory, or deceptive products and services. Upholding these standards safeguards consumer trust, promotes a fair marketplace, and mitigates legal risks. Telr is committed to partnering with clients who share our values of transparency, honesty, and responsible business practices to ensure mutual success and sustainability. The aforementioned lines of business include without limitation:
  • Pyramid schemes.
  • Get rich quick’ schemes including: investment opportunities or other services that promise high rewards to mislead consumers; schemes that claim to offer high rewards for very little effort or up front work; sites that promise fast and easy money; businesses that make outrageous claims, use deceptive testimonials, use high-pressure upselling, and/or use fake testimonials; (with or without a written contract) offering unrealistic incentives/rewards as an inducement to purchase products or services but do not respond to any queries after the purchase.
  • No value-added services including sale or resale of a service without added benefit to the buyer and resale of government offerings without authorization or added value.
  • Sales of online traffic or engagement.
  • Negative response marketing and telemarketing.
  • PREDATORY mortgage consulting, lending, credit repair and counseling services.
  • PREDATORY investment opportunities with no or low money down.
  • Remote technical support; mugshot publication or pay-to-remove sites; essay mills; chain letters; door-to-door sales.
  • Matrix sites or websites using a Matrix scheme Approach.
  • Any other businesses that Telr considers unfair, deceptive, or predatory towards consumers.
  • Activity not matching Merchant’s trade license e. Merchant selling shoes with a Bakery Trade License activity.  
  1. Adult content and services
    Telr strictly prohibits the support of adult content and services on its platform. Clients must adhere to this policy, ensuring that their businesses align with our values of integrity and responsible commerce. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate termination of services. We prioritize creating a safe and trustworthy environment for all our users and stakeholders.
  • Pornography and other mature audience content (including literature, imagery, defamation, violence, intolerance and other media) depicting nudity or explicit sexual acts.
  • Adult services including prostitution, escorts, pay-per view, sexual massages, and adult live chat features.
  • Adult video stores.
  • Gentleman’s clubs, topless bars, and strip clubs.
  1. Certain legal services
    We ensure compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards, prioritizing the integrity and legality of transactions.     At Telr, we do not support transactions involving firearms, explosives, or dangerous materials.   • Guns, gunpowder, ammunitions, weapons, ammunitions and related materials, knives, brass knuckles, fireworks, and other explosives.
  • Peptides, research chemicals, and other toxic, flammable and radioactive materials.
  1. Gambling – Subject to the new UAE Regulation
    Telr supports responsible business practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. With regards to gambling, it shall be subject to the new United Arab Emirates regulations. We prioritize legal compliance and responsible conduct in all our partnerships, ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of our services.     Merchants offering financing products and services, such as mentioned below fall under compliance scrutiny. They must undergo the Compliance approval processes to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safeguarding against financial risks.
  • Investment and brokerage services,
  • Lending services,
  • Buy Now Pay Later services,
  • Crowdfunding,
  • Debt collection agencies,
  • Insurance services including medical benefit packages,
  • Money transmitters, currency exchange services and other money services businesses,
  • Neobanks / challenger banks, and

  • Embassy, foreign consulate, or other foreign governments shall not be part of Sanctions Countries list.

    Merchants offering computer network, information services, or age-restricted goods must undergo compliance approval for onboarding with Telr. Our thorough vetting process ensures regulatory adherence and protects both merchants and consumers. Compliance approval is essential for seamless integration and conducting business within legal frameworks.

Restricted Lines of Business with Additional Charges

It is essential to limit the types of businesses supported to ensure adherence to regulations and reduce risks for our clients. Some activities require approval to meet legal requirements and protect against potential risks or liabilities. We emphasize transparency and thoroughness in assisting clients through these procedures to build trust and maintain operational soundness. Please note that products falling within this category will involve an extra fee as stipulated below.

  1. Tobacco Products and/or Products inclusive of Tobacco
    Merchants dealing with tobacco products fall under a specialized category requiring compliance approval due to regulatory considerations. Telr ensures seamless onboarding for such merchants, facilitating adherence to legal requirements and regulatory standards to operate ethically within the tobacco industry:
  • Tobacco products including e-cigarettes and e-liquid fall under the aforementioned category. 
  1. Pharmaceuticals, medical devices and telemedicine
    To ensure regulatory compliance, Telr restricts the onboarding of clients dealing with including without limitation pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and telemedicine. Such industries demand stringent adherence to legal and ethical standards. Merchants operating in these sectors must obtain compliance approval for onboarding as a Telr Merchant.
  • Online pharmacies,
  • Telemedicine and telehealth services,
  • Miracle cures, remedies marketed as quick health fixes,
  • Drug proprietaries and druggist sundries, and


Restricted Lines of Business involving High Financial Risk

It is pertinent to restrict the range of supported businesses to comply with regulations and mitigate risks for our clients. Certain activities necessitate Compliance approval to meet obligations and shield against potential risks and/or liabilities. Telr prioritizes transparency and diligence in guiding clients through these processes to foster trust and uphold operational integrity. It is noteworthy that these lines of business are restricted due to their inherent high financial risks.

  • Sale of stored value or credits maintained, accepted and issued by anyone other than the seller Open Loop i.e. Gift Card.
